Bunyi macam international farm, tapi local breeder je.
Yang menariknya tentang nama Lalah ni, kalau di rearrangekan alphabet ni, it spells the word 'Allah' dan jika diterbalikkan ejaannya, maka jadilah perkataan 'Halal'. So in a way it somehow represents and reflect our sincere effort in breeding our goats as required by our Islamic way, law & practices. Insya Allah.

And thats the beauty of breeding goats. How every single aspect that links to goats; from its history, aktiviti mengembala, nak sembelih untuk aqiqah, the meat you eat, the milk you drink, and even the business transaction of selling goats, revolves around the simplicity and uniqueness of Islam.
(Do google it and you shall find many infos in relation to goats and Islam.)
Ok, back to the subject of background. Menternak kambing ni bermula dari 'hobi' ayah saya. Rasanya hobi lah coz none of us in the family tanya dia masa dia buat dulu pada tahun 2008 (if not mistaken or probably even earlier). Masa tu saya pun tak involve langsung. Ayahanda ni suka experimentasi. Jadi ke tak jadi ke belakang cerita. Janji buat dulu.
Bila kandang dah naik, kambing pun tiba di kebun beberapa ekor (tak ingat kuantiti). I still remember we had a Boer as a sire. Besar dan gagah perkasa. Nak pegang pun takut. Ya lah masa tu tak pernah pun up close and personal dengan kambing nih. Takut disondolnya saya. Setakat tu je lah my interaction, the rest ayahanda yang bela dan manage.
Dalam beberapa bulan menternak tuh, nampak lah pelbagai improvement and challenges kat kebun. Mesin chopper lah tiba tiba ade. Selang berberapa bulan pulak, sedar tak sedar, ade pokok napier pulak ditanam. Kambing pun mula beranak pinak. Tapi not all was fine and dandy. Satu ketika kambing kena curi. Berpuluh ekor lak tuh. Kambing mati pun ade, sebab cirit birit. Biasalah asam garam menternak kambing.
My first involvement started bila ayahanda suruh saya carikan buyer yang nak beli kambing. No problem sebab bab marketing and business ni memang saya minat. Masa tu lepas hari raya 2012. Kebetulan ada member ajak pi open house kat Setia Alam, Selangor. Setibanya saya disana, hidangan istimewa 'kambing panggang' dihidangkan. Siap dengan chef (which i got to know later is the kambing panggang business owner) buat carving and serving, complete dengan side dishes. Memang sedapppp!!
Suprisingly he agreed. Alhamdulillah. Dengan berfikiran kambing banyak kat kebun, bolehlah supply, tak jadi masalah. I WAS WRONG! VERY VERY WRONG! It was not as easy and what i expected. So what i thought? betina pun betina lah. Janji jual. WRONG AGAIN!!
And that is the start of my new and adventurous journey in goat knowledge 101 (belum breeding lagi tuh). And during this process of gaining knowledge is when i started to build my passion for goats. I had the chance to participate dalam menyembelih dan melapah beberapa ekor kambing kami untuk tujuan aqiqah bersama chef ni and that was my breakthrough moment. To see the goat submit itself voluntarily for slaughtering in the name of Allah s.w.t was beyond words for me to describe. I felt peace, humbled, grounded and with high respect for these goats. I never look at goat the same way again.
I have to thank my dear chef friend untuk ilmu ilmu yang telah dikongsi bersama saya. Kalau berminat nak tempah kambing panggang untuk tujuan aqiqah or other functions, here is his link http://kambinggolekkakibakar.blogspot.com/. Worth recommending.
So itulah serba sedikit background awal saya berkecimpung dalam bidang mengenali kambing. Terima kasih kerana sudi membaca. By the way, bisnes kambing panggang ni dah menjadi trend yang popular sekarang untuk majlis aqiqah, family function, lagi lagi musim nak raya. So para penternak kambing / bebiri pedaging, network with this people too for sales. Sebulan dah 20 ekor. Banyak tuh.
Ok. Sekian saja untuk kali ni. Mbekk..
